A few weeks ago I started watching Dexter. One thing I like about it: The show has a very distinctive and unique soundtrack. Although I’m not particularly keen on the main title and the theme song, I love the track “New Legs”. The beginning of the song is pretty unremarkable but there are a few seconds that I find totally fascinating. If you read the comments on youtube it seems like I’m not the only one who gets goose bumps from the melody that starts at 0:59 (and 1:24):

A week ago I finally bought a computer mouse (after using only the laptop touch pad for three years) in order to play some 3D computer games. I loved computer games as a child and teenager but in the last few years I just never took the time to play them (except the occasional adventure game).
But last week I didn’t only buy a mouse, I also bought The Elder Scrolls IV – Oblivion, a single player role playing game from 2006. It only cost 10€ including two add-ons. A few years ago I played Morrowind (The Elder Scrolls III) and I totally loved it, although I’d never seen myself as a typical RPG player.
So far (after about 7 hours of playing) I really like Oblivion, one thing I miss from Morrowind though is the beautiful music, especially the theme song. You can hear the theme song when you start Oblivion but the actual theme melody is pretty short.
On 11/11/11 the new Elder Scrolls (V) game Skyrim will be released. Although I won’t be able to play this on my laptop (I already got problems with Oblivion), I’m looking forward to it (I’ll certainly play it when I can afford a better computer). I embedded the Skyrim theme for comparison.

I first came across this poem while watching the TV series “Desperate Housewives”. Karen McCluskey says it for her friend Ida Greenberg who died because of a tornado in season 4.
As a huge Paranormal Activity fan (the movies, not the actual thing), I’m very much looking forward to the new sequel. In Germany the movie premiere is on November, 3th.

In case you’re wondering why you don’t hear that much from me, I’m just really busy at the moment.
