I was at the Serj Tankian concert in Berlin last week (25/10). He had the most amazing support band which, how I found out, has accompanied him on other tours already.
They’re called “Viza” and play hard rock mixed with Eastern European folk music. They sound a lot like System of A Down but softer and less crazy. Not only their music is amazing but also their live performance. Actually I teared up multiple times during their short time on stage – although I didn’t know a single song.
Here are two of the coolest songs. Both from the album “Made in Chernobyl” (what a name…). Great album!
I really hope they come to Berlin again!
How could I have overlooked this before?
So much urgency and tension!
Slender – a game I discovered about two weeks ago. You have to collect eight pages in the woods. It’s dark, you only have a flashlight. Suddenly you realize someone is following you – a slender man. DON’T LOOK AT HIM! He will get you!
Apparently this is the scariest game of all times (or not, depending on your scary game preferences). I don’t dare to play this game. But the reactions of people playing it are damn fun.
Try it out yourself – It’s free! http://slendergame.com/
I’m so excited about the new Linkin Park album that it’s not even funny anymore. You can listen to the new single “BURN IT DOWN” here: http://livingthings.linkinpark.com
A few months ago I discovered that Family Guy is pretty funny. I like the brutal humor.
Here are a few short sequences:
I’ve been looking for collections of music with a Creative Commons license recently. I know jamendo but I wonder whether there are other websites like that.
A new website I found is the Free Music Archive.
Do you know similar websites?
Very funny. Especially if your tech- and web-savvy.
CLIENT: The text is not black enough.
ME: It is set as ‘Black’ in the style sheet….
CLIENT: Ok, but can you make it blacker than that black?
ME: Hold on, I’ll try something. Give me an hour.
I went to lunch.
ME: Okay, can you refresh your browser now?
CLIENT: Yes, thats better, thanks.

This guy (Emmett Cooke) makes a living from selling his music on audio stock websites. Isn’t that great?
A few weeks ago I started watching Dexter. One thing I like about it: The show has a very distinctive and unique soundtrack. Although I’m not particularly keen on the main title and the theme song, I love the track “New Legs”. The beginning of the song is pretty unremarkable but there are a few seconds that I find totally fascinating. If you read the comments on youtube it seems like I’m not the only one who gets goose bumps from the melody that starts at 0:59 (and 1:24):
This should be the Dexter theme!
